The revelations I think I have about writing often prove to be, on further reflection, things Sharyn has been telling me for years. This one is probably another one of those:
I really thought, after I finished Empress of the World, that I’d learned how to write a novel.
I hadn’t.
I’d learned how to write that novel.
Now I’m in the process of learning how to write the next one.

oh no! i was hoping that wouldn’t happen. i was importing stuff from the old blog, and i thought that back-dating the entries would keep them from showing up on the feed. apparently this is not the case. eeeeeek.
