yes, and it's ridiculous. i think people have developed a fear of blogs and what their children may put out there, but if they were to simply monitor their children's blog sites and make sure they weren't posting anything they deem innappropriate, it is better then blocknig the child from these sites at all. It doesn't matter how many times a parental figure can say no, the child will find a way to view it and join it and do it, that's what children and teenagers do: rebel. Like I said before, if the parents would tolerate it a little bit the kids wouldn't see the need to rebel and put innapropriate things online because they know their parents would be checking it.

I guess 'cause people meet people on the internet and it's dangerous. I mean, you have kids with their photos up there, and pediphiles who lie about their age and put up fake photos up say they wanna meet somewhere, and the kids are dumb enough to trust them. I mean, well, I met My girlfriend on MySpace, but it's not something to encourage, ya know?
Besides.... kids can log in at school if they know what site to go to. Like we do. (Ooohh, we're such bad kids ^_^ )

In my school we're not aloud on any sites in which we can contact other people, but i think like live journal and stuff like that is okay, but i'm not exactly sure. In our rivaling jr high (my best friend goes there) someone wrote an article in their paper about myspace, and it got banned from that. i dont have computer class or anything right now though, so i dont know about any of the sites really.

During winter break, they did a scan of the most commonly visited sites. LJ and Xanga were in the top five. They went to those sites, decided that students could access inappropriate material and banned them...
