How come it took me this long to read A Confederacy of Dunces?
It is pure genius.
If Ignatius Reilly were alive today, he would be a blogger.
Oh how furiously he would blog.

you’re the second person-of-considerable-esteem-in-my-opinion to speak highly of this book. I might have to add it to my list of things-to-do once i finish my stack of San Diego acquisitions…

And why isn’t there a Netflix for books? You might say, ‘what about the library?’, and you’d be half-right. But i’ve got about a half-dozen items on request from the library right now, and they come to me whether I’m ready for them or not. I got three books the other day, and I haven’t even finished ‘Thank You For Smoking’ yet! Gah! Media overload!

Don’t feel too bad. I read it for the first time only a few years ago, based on Chris Baldwin’s advocacy. Ignatius would definitely be a blogger. And a fan-boy. And an IT guy. And a zinester (which he sorta already is, come to think of it.)

Thanks for the tip — I bought my copy yesterday (library copies all out or on hold), and already have been quizzed about it by the lady behind me in line at the supermarket checkout.
