Most of you have no doubt already seen Weird Al’s latest. It cracks me the hell up, possibly in part because my boxing teacher is a big fan of the original song.
Steve’s comment: “At this point, he’s had a longer career than many of the people he’s parodied.”

I love that video. (What is the original song?)
The worst thing is, many of the things they say? So remind me of my best friend.

“Ridin’ Dirty” by Chamillionaire (right now his site plays the song as background…)

Ahh, alright!
I just spent like half an hour listening to White & Nerdy. I finally had to change it before my cat killed me.

Hell, at this point, he’s had a longer career than many of the people he’s parodied have been alive.

i love weird al. i need to start buying his music again, and next time he comes to town I’m seriously planning on going. Funny thing, though, I prefer his original songs to most of his parodies. Probably because his parodies are all of top-40’s pop/r&b stuff, which I never liked to begin with.

His ability to mimic new music styles continues to amaze me. And his parodies still have a way of supplanting the original in my mind. I can’t hear “Smells Like Teen Spirit” without expecting a cow’s moo in the chorus (from “Smells Like Nirvana”: “We’re a garage band from Seattle/ But it sure beats raising cattle! [mooo!]“)
