From what I hear, these statues are, indeed, modelled on real people from the neighborhood.

I forget they’re here for months at a time and then rediscover them.

i don’t know. maybe ceramic? but it’s hard to tell. i was trying to be subtle about taking the photos and not bug the folks who live there…

well, this documentary was made about my neighborhood. but at least our house was built on a vacant lot…
