In case y’all were confused: no April Fool here, this is the new website, but it’s not actually done. We have the structure in place, and because the WordPress defaults are not bad looking, it is not objectionable, but it isn’t the new site design, yet. Who is this “we,” you ask? Why, me and the space ninja, of course.

LiveJournal friends, a question: is it a pain to click through to comment on the WordPress side? Because if it isn’t, then I won’t have to keep the LJ comments turned on, and I’ll only have to keep track of one set. I don’t mind tracking two sets, but if I don’t have to, that would be nifty.

Let me know…I suppose the best way would be by, um, commenting.

    it doesnt seem like its worse than clicking the link in LJ, except for the having to sign your name and email. i would probably be less likely to comment, for whatever that’s worth.

    Works for me to click through, though you can always have LJ automatically send you any responses to blog entries there…

    Firefox fills out these little fields for me anyway, so it’s not a hassle. So long as I can still read your posts on my friendslist, I am happy.

    @liz o:
    For what it’s worth, you’ll usually only have to fill out the comment form once - then a cookie is set on your computer which automatically fills those form fields in, so if you comment again, they’re already there.

    Six of one, half dozen of another. I’d advise keeping the LJ comments open for new readers.

    I was going to say that the one downside is that with LJ you know if people have responded to your comments, but I see a “Notify me of followup comments via e-mail” check box. So, um, never mind!

    (Is that a plug-in? I need to add it onto my site if so…)

    Yes, you can find the “Subscribe to Comments” plugin here:

    Hmmm…if you always have that reminder box, I guess it will be ok…though I think I too am more likely to respond in LJ.
