The Bush administration recently withdrew its support from the United Nations Population Fund. $34 million worth of support, to be precise, which “would have allowed the agency to prevent 2 million unwanted pregnancies and more than 77,000 infant and child deaths, UNFPA estimates.”

Fortunately, a grassroots campaign has begun, to make up for the lost $34 million with individual contributions from 34 million people. Send them your dollar, or more.
