Not only are they the first three letters of our president-elect’s name, they are also the acronym for the Oregon Book Awards. The ceremony was last night.
One of the many fabulous things about writing YA is that during an awards ceremony that has many categories, YA is generally one of the first to be announced. We are, like, the sound editing of literature.
So I got to spend most of the evening dazed and thrilled, but relatively relaxed in the knowledge that The Rules for Hearts and Linda Zuckerman’s excellent and creepy A Taste for Rabbit had tied — I believe in the first tie to be awarded in the YA category.
Pictures to follow.

Congrats, Sara! Now I’ll have to read A Taste for Rabbit if it is as good as Rules.

You go, Sara! You kick such ass!
And Jeff, A Taste for Rabbit sounds pretty darn good. I immediately went home and put a hold on it at the library.
