Some things I saw at the Getty

For a while I was being very covert about my cell phone photography. Then I noticed that no one else was.

This woman and her baby are in the midst of breaking open their tomb.

I took this one because I never expected to see such a dramatically rendered cauliflower.

“Vexed Man.” That’s seriously the title on the placard.

Venus reclining on a sea monster.

Detail from an extremely large vase. The description said it included life casts of spiders, which I think means that spiders were harmed in the making of the vase.

Detail from a fire screen. The bird is defending her young against the snake.

Abandoned Stuffed Animal, c. 2009.

And then after a while I was tired, so my friend Harry and I found a place to sit without any art in it.

I just loved the building! And the view isn’t bad either. Did you walk down the path over the stream? I adore that it is designed to sound different at every crossing.

The building *is* pretty amazing, but we didn’t walk around the grounds much because it was really freaking hot. I’m not used to LA-style heat.
